Boat House Super Suites, hotel in Rothesay

Providing sea views, Boat House Super Suites in Rothesay provides accommodation and a garden. There is a private entrance at the bed and breakfast for the convenience of those who stay.

I recently visited Rothesay for a business meeting at Mount Stuart. As a wheelchair user, I had booked a wheelchair-accessible room in Boat House Super Suites, and I was impressed with how smoothly everything was handled—the ramp was promptly ready upon my arrival. The accommodation offered a breath-taking view, perfectly overlooking the ferry as it departed and arrived from Rothesay to Wemyss Bay. The room was spotless and well-maintained, providing a very comfortable stay. The host family was absolutely fantastic—warm, attentive, and accommodating. Breakfast was a treat, with a variety of options including cereals, milk or yogurt, and fresh bread. Everything was thoughtfully kept to cater to different preferences. The location was another highlight. Rothesay’s centre, the cinema, and the ferry terminal were all within easy walking (or wheeling) distance, making it very convenient to get around. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and wouldn’t hesitate to return to Rothesay and stay at this wonderful accommodation again. Highly recommended!

Sunnyside House, hotel in Rothesay

Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Sunnyside House features accommodation with a garden and free WiFi. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area.

I chose Sunnyside House Hotel because of the price and its location. It's right on the seafront a short walk from the ferry terminal. The owner Lorna made me feel like part of the family right from the start. I loved the full the full Scottish breakfast in the mornings and would definately stay there again.

Lovely little flat, immaculately clean and looks freshly decorated. All the instructions and information you could need, including books, maps, details of local walks etc, even DVDs with historical footage. Clearly an experienced host. Flat was quiet at night, lovely garden out the back with washing lines, handy if you're staying longer. Kitchen and bathroom all up to date and working well. TV with Freesat, Netflix capability etc. Great location. Really enjoyed our stay!

We loved everything about this exceptional boutique B and B. Host, Gus, was so accommodating and friendly. Complimentary wine in the mini fridge was a really nice gesture as was the fresh milk for tea/coffee. Toiletries were top class and included extras like face wipes. Floor to ceiling windows allowed us a beautiful view of Rothesay bay. The wall mounted TV was huge and had an amazingly clear signal. WiFi was good in the bedroom and the bed was extremely comfortable.
