Blackwell House, hotel in Poyntz Pass

Blackwell House is located in the countryside bordering County Down and County Armagh, 5 miles from Banbridge. This beautiful country house offers lovely rooms, a restaurant and a garden.

Blackwell House is an exceptional establishment. The hosts Adele and Alessio are warm and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We were upgraded on our arrival, what a treat that was! However I expect all rooms are equally magical. The Loft is a very special space with a large terrace which looks out over the countryside. The hot tub on the terrace was real bonus feature. Breakfast the next morning was five star, beautifully presented high quality produce. We will definitely be returning to Blackwell House, it is possibly the nicest place I have ever stayed.

It was budget accommodation in a good location for us to stop over for one night on our way to Dublin, which is just what we were after. Check in was simple and the publican really friendly. The room was small but clean and warm and the bed was comfy. It was surprising quiet for a pub.

We loved our stay at the Railway Bar. The owner is extremely friendly and we loved going downstairs the bar in the evening and having a few drinks with the locals. Our room was very big and we slept well. The place is a bit dated but we found it very charming. We got good tips for dinner and breakfast and we had a great time exploring the beautiful surroundings. We were there on a Rugby night but our son had no trouble sleeping upstaris while the match was on. The noise goes to 11pm 12 maximum so for us that was not an issue at all.

It was the most beautiful stay during our trip through (North) Ireland. Very charming and clean loft with a separate entrance. The host prepared a little breakfast in the loft for us and were very nice.
