Set in the mountains of patterdale what an absolute gem of a find, straight away upon riding our motorbike to the b and b we pulled up got a beer from the outside bar set next to a river then was shown to our room( found out we had been upgraded free of charge) we was in the ullswater room absolutely spotless the TV could do with being a bit bigger than a postage stamp but don't let this put you off the owners are literally the best we have ever come across we was shown around the premises and then inside the bar and lounge area where there is a rule of if no staff you serve yourself from a varied selection of alcohol and non alcoholic beverages and snacks upon you have to be honest and write on said piece of paper room and beverages taken.there was also a TV lounge with a selection of games also.breakfast is served between 8 and 9 am where there's a selection of cereal yoghurts and fruit juices then the full English where you choose from any 5 items and we can honestly say the breakfast was a 10 out of 10 staying here is a must for us again judge it for yourself

This is a very comfortable hotel in a peaceful location. We were well looked after and enjoyed relaxing after a day hiking across from Keswick.

This is our second time staying here, and it was truly lovely. The rooms are comfortable and cozy, and it is in an excellent location (right off one of the main streets in Grasmere). The staff members were helpful and considerate, and breakfast each morning was delicious! Would wholeheartedly stay here again.
The Swan at Grasmere- The Inn Collection Group has recently been refurbished and features rooms with attached bathroom, 2 bars and a beer garden overlooking the fells.

The Ullswater had a lovely back setting as it was in the Lake District. It was right next to the stream which give it a more beautiful setting. It was really a lovely setting from hills to the stream and the lake itself.

We did not stay. Though the hostess was nice, we were overwhelmed by the strong smell of some cleaning product. It triggered my asthma, so we ended up leaving, and after a long search found another place to stay.
I couldn’t find the hostess when we were leaving, so I left a note explaining that we just couldn’t handle the fumes from the cleaning product and that we hoped she would give us some credit on the price. I don’t guess she did.
For travelers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms might be shared by other guests, and there's usually shared space with the host.
I’m more pissed off with booking.com the hotel told me if I had booked with them I could of got it cheaper and got evening meal thrown in no extra charge for what you charged me 100 pounds cheaper I won’t be booking anything else with you. You ripped me off big style
Great location. Loads of walking options out into the hills. Car not needed when I was there. Good menu selection. Generous portions. Could only ever manage two courses. Great place to finish a day in the hills with a pint and crisps! Lovely and quiet location away from the touristy hotspots.
Excellent location for Helvellyn - Fairfield area hills, good sized room if a bit dated, excellent breakfast, reasonable dinner options at a good price, good outdoor seating area (beside the road which was probably quieter than normal because Kirkstone Pass is currently closed)
Great location as it was a 10 minute drive to Aira force which we walked on our second day. Receprion staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a Fantastic 3 course meal for just £22 ! The bar was cheap too :) Breakfast was help yourself buffet, so plenty to fill you up.
The staff were charming and wonderfully helpful. The view from my bedroom window was picturesque. The en suite included a bath, a luxury these days. The evening meal was excellent, the service first rate and the breakfast was opulent, too. The entertainment- none was expected -was lively, tuneful and good fun.

Unfortunately we didn't book through their website to get the very cheap dinner, bed and breakfast rate, so had to pay an additional £22 pp per night, but it was worth it and there weren't many places to eat locally after long old hikes. The staff were really helpful.
Wonderful hosts, great views, excellent breakfast and fabulous facilities. Great location for hiking to helvellyn, and very cosy to come back to after a day of hiking. We had beautiful views of the river and mountains from our 'Ullswater' room along with one of the most comfortable beds I have stayed in whilst away! The bar and games were a very welcome addition in the evenings. We had a great stay will definitely be back again.
Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, excellent breakfast and the evening meal we paid for extra was lovely and great value. Santa and his elf arriving added to the fun, entertainment was good. Great location for the walking we had planned
