Lovely staff, homely down to earth pub, restaurant with rooms in a gorgeous quiet village but not remote. Fantastic view from Rm3 across Coquetvale/River Coquet to the hills/moors across the valley. Relaxing walk along the river. Even the locals in the pub were welcoming. The bed was gloriously comfortable too.

The Dirty Bottles Inn, hotel in Rothbury

Located in Alnwick and with Alnwick Castle reachable within a 2-minute walk, The Dirty Bottles Inn has a terrace, allergy-free rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a bar.

The room was exceptional, modern but with a nod to the old. The bathroom was way above average. The restaurant was one of the best we frequented on this trip and the breakfast was exceptional. The location was literally a couple of blocks from the side entrance to Alnwick Castle. Parking a bit tricky but we found a spot a street over. Might be tougher in high season. Easy walk into town where there were some nice little shops.

Butterchurn Guest House, hotel in Rothbury

Butterchurn Guest House enjoys a location in Otterburn, 27 miles from Alnwick Castle and 31 miles from St. James' Park.

My wife and I were in Otterburn for a wedding so only stayed 1 night. The room was very clean and comfortable. We were contacted by the owner on our way there to tell us that their hot water system had broken down and if asked we wanted to cancel. As it was only 1 night and we would be out most of the time it wasn't an issue. Nothing much the owner could do especially on a Sunday.

EveAnna, hotel in Rothbury

Featuring garden views, EveAnna in Alnwick features accommodations and a garden. There's a private entrance at the bed and breakfast for the convenience of those who stay.

The guest house had everything that we needed in the room and it was comfy, and the location was close to the centre of Alnwick, which was great. It was possible to self check-in too, which was convenient. The quantity of breakfast was very generous, although there wasn't lots of variety.

Charming cottage in centre of village where all needs were well catered both by the accommodation itself and outside facilities. Presentation was delightful and equipment was provided for everything one might need. A quiet and restful stay. Thanks for the Prosecco, and the mouse. We hope to return.
