The hosts were very welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was very comfortable with everything you would need for an overnight stay. There were lots of little extras provided that you would normally expect in an upmarket hotel.Breakfast was delicious, plentiful and well cooked. the scrambled eggs were sublime.Special mention about the yogurt concoction prepared by Shaan, which was absolutely yummy.
In summary a very pleasant stay, at good value for money and highly recommended

The breakfast, brought to us by Mike at the exact time requested, was excellent. The location is particularly well-placed for a one-or-two night stay if visiting Southwell or Newark.

Sef and Shaan are just fantastic hosts! We were greeted with a warm friendly welcome and wanted for nothing during our stay. Food amazing, cottage quaint, warm clean and comfortable in a quiet location. We took our 2 dogs and they were made as welcome as us. We highly recommend a stay at Tumbleweed Cottage so much so we are returning in December.
Lovely warm welcome. The Lions is beautifully decorated and maintained. We had a very nice twin room overlooking the charming garden. It was quiet and the beds were comfortable. Coffee, tea and water were provided in the room and we enjoyed sitting in the cosy lounge. We were leaving before breakfast and Pablo provided us with a container with delicious fresh fruit and smoked salmon and avocado sandwiches that made the early start and (sadly) chaos on the trains, more bearable!
