Recently renovated, the room was spacious and one of the nicest accommodations we stayed at in our 3 week tour of England & Scotland. However the price was very affordable, in line with places that were much less spacious and with fewer amenities and lesser quality. The Pickled Pheasant was conveniently located just outside the Peak District, a short drive to the Dales. Easily accessed off a main thoroughfare, but very quiet and peaceful. The room featured a true king size bed, large walk-in shower, window seating, desk seating, an armoire, and (rare for much of the country) washcloths in addition to hand and bath towels. We opened the large windows in the morning and enjoyed the beautiful sound of (nearby but not loud) church bells There is a pub and breakfast dining area on the main level. WE only stayed one night so were not able to take advantage of the walking guide that was provided with specially designed hikes beginning at the lodging. We would definitely choose to stay at the PIckled Pheasant again!

The Huntsman Inn is a wonderful place to stay. It's located just outside Holmfirth town center with incredible views of the Moors. The rooms are nicely decorated & spacious with everything you need for a pleasant stay. The food & service in the restaurant was outstanding but the best thing about this Inn, is the staff. Everyone there was so friendly & welcoming. I highly recommend The Huntsman Inn for a first class stay in Holmfirth!

Everything! The view and quiet, peaceful atmosphere were much enjoyed. The hosts were amazing and they even cooked a 5-Star breakfast for us.

Can’t say enough good things about this property. Charming heritage place, centrally located in beautiful Holmfirth and with the sound of the river at the front. Our room was huge with a sofa, kind sized bed, a fantastic view and contemporary luxurious finishes and fabrics. An excellent breakfast was provided the next morning. We’ve been travelling for six weeks and this was the best room and best value of anywhere we stayed. My only regret was that due to visiting family nearby we arrived late and had to leave the next day. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Very comfortable village pub. Well prepared pub food, very friendly staff. Also, I had a sudden medical issue and the landlord bent over backwards to get me a doctor appointment- and then called later to be sure I was ok. First class, much appreciated. We’ll be back.

The Luxe is in a good locatiin close to town. It is what it says it is. A full house with everything you can think of that would come with a house. It is also very clean and tidy. If you want privacy and to be left alone then the Luxe is a good pick as the landlord will leave you be only enquring to see if you need fresh towels, tea, coffee etc etc.. Overall my stay at the Luxe has been excllent and i would reccomend to any professional who likes to crack on with their work, no distrations.
