The house is beautiful, inside and outside. The attention to detail, to create a Victorian home, surpassed our expectations, and it was like going back in time, with so much to look at and absorb. We were made to feel welcome straightaway, by Paul, the owner. Each of our bedrooms was unique and in addition to the beauty, there was also comfort, cleanliness and peace there. The breakfast was delicious, and we loved the dining room, tableware and presentation of breakfast. The garden was a fantastic and whimsical surprise, and we are in awe of the dedication to detail and commitment to provide guests with such a relaxing and beautiful time away. The owners are kind, courteous, interesting and professional, and no detail was overlooked by them.
The Laindons is a Georgian, Grade II-listed building located on the High Street in Hastings’ old town, just a 5-minute walk from the beach and several restaurants.

An absolute gem. Beautiful house with beautiful art - a comfortable living room to read a book in, a gorgeous dining room to enjoy breakfast in, and a beautiful bedroom with exceptionally comfortable beds. Breakfast was amazing and the owners took care to accommodate my gluten free needs. The couple that owns the house is a delight to interact with and our overall experience allowed us to get a glimpse into English life while exploring nearby countryside and towns. We had originally booked for 1 night but ended up staying 2 (would have stayed longer if there was availability).
The house is also in a great location for both city exploration and nearby towns, castles and gardens.

We truly enjoyed everything about our stay at Northrise Retreat! Darren was so friendly and accommodating. The beautiful private backyard with sauna and hot tub really did make this a true ‘retreat’ for us after a couple weeks of action packed sightseeing. Lovely high ceilings gave a grand feeling and the modern shower was second to none. Lots of pressure and hot water with beautiful aromatic products. The second handheld shower head was mounted could tilt and be the perfect high pressure shower head height for me, a short 5’2” woman. Best ever!!!

A very eccentric house that took a little getting used to (steep staircases, light switches that take some searching for), but then became very charming! Great location too, with easy walks to the East and West Hills, and lots of lovely restaurants and cafés nearby.
It was private and quiet with distant sea view. Had all the basic requirements, including fridge and free wifi. The owner let me check in and did not disturb me further.
The room was extremely clean and very comfortable. Even though it is next to/above a fast food restaurant, you couldn't even tell. Great location, right by my favourite part, old town and the sea front. Even though it's in a busy location, it is still extremely quiet. We were kindly provided with a fan that made a huge difference. Mostly friendly staff and when there was a problem, help was offered at the earliest convenience.
The location was great. Room was a great size (Room 5). It was quiet while also being central. Shower was lovely, didn't want to get out. Bed was so comfortable! Easy independent check in/check out process. Great facilities, tea and coffee in the room, tv with Netflix, fridge for our own stuff, hair dryer (always essential), iron. W were there for the beer festival so really convenient to get to and from that while also being close to the city centre.
