Beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean and comfortable, impeccable attention to detail, such as fresh flowers in the public spaces. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Though we were there only two nights our room was serviced on the second day. Excellent breakfast with a good choice. The little extras, apart from a good range of teas in the room, there were biscuits, chocolates and a small bottle of wine to greet us; also fresh milk, bottled water and cans of cola in a fridge. Fluffy bath robes, excellent shower, his and hers sinks and a big bath in the room for soaking. Great location - only a few minutes walk from the Convention Centre and the centre of Harrogate, which is a lovely town; free parking right outside the guest house was no problem.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Shoulder of Mutton . We were made most welcome and our bedroom was one if the nicest we have stayed in. It was really comfortable and characterful abd we loved the underfloor heating in thd bathroom.
We enjoyed our evening mrals snd breakfast was beautifully cooked. The meals are served in a really characterful bar area.
Well-placed just 0.5 miles from central Harrogate, Scotia House is directly opposite the Harrogate International Conference Centre.

I was staying here for BTME at the Harrogate Convention Centre so location is perfect.
I had a call in the morning to check what time I would be arriving and on the phone confirmed an early check in at no additional cost.
The owner is very welcoming, helpful and happy, just what you want! He was there on my arrival and explained that one key is for the front door and one is for my room. And then confirmed what time I would be leaving in the morning.
The room (mine was a twin) was perfect. Absolutely spotless, all essentials for the bathroom were there, lots of extras, sockets near the bed, good amount of pillows and cushions, enough hangars for several items of clothing, comfortable beds, easy to use shower, good water pressure and hot.
Having stayed in tons of hotels for work and holidays, this was one of the best experiences I have had!

This is a charming, old-style bed and breakfast with boutique hotel features. We loved the comfortable bedding, the modernised bathroom, the quality of the breakfast, the toiletries and the complimentary drinks. We also made use of the lounge which provided us with a wonderful additional space. The free parking is a real bonus. Mark sent us the information we needed beforehand and, despiting not meeting him in person, he was very friendly and approachable. The place provides very good value for money.
