The location, close to Whitby yet in rural surroundings. Lovely garden to sit in. Park and Ride just yards away. Lovely reception, bar and other staff - so helpful. Room comfortable and spotlessly clean. Plenty of on-site car parking. Plus two ponies looking over the fence and a couple of peacocks !

Made very welcome by the Landlord who even organised for my bike to be garaged. We enjoyed the bar and the food was also good. A table for our party of six was perfect and well serviced by the staff.

Breakfast was large, well presented and very tasty with a good selection of food choice. The location was very quiet, tucked behind the village church making it extremely private. The local train station was quite close where the old steam trains can be enthusiastically watched or boarded.
