The breakfast was wonderful, with a sideboard of everything you could hope for, fresh baked items, and a made-to-order menu as well. All eggs poached to perfection. Hot coffee and tea in pots with cozies. A beautiful tables and settings. Our room was spotless and so well-appointed and comfortable. Even a little decanter of Laphroig for a welcome drink! The latest green heating and cooling. Outdoor seating areas with spectacular views. And a favorite thing you can't get in Port Ellen: A perfectly dark night sky. We went in August 2024, and saw the milky way, meteors and northern lights, all right out in the car park.

The property was well situated to be able to to easily tour the Isle of Islay. The Glenegedale House is set-up so that you can either socialize with other guests or maintain your privacy. Graeme and Emma are amazing hosts who look after all of your needs. On top of that the breakfast and the dinner served by them was by far the best food we have eaten in recent memory.

I could start with the view, but instead I'll start with the warmest reception from Fiona, her tea and banter were all we needed after a long ferry and drive.
Fiona has an eye for detail that's so often missed these days, from her exceptionally comfortable beds and linens to the thoughtful tea tray in your room. Nothing tops her breakfast, it's generous, hearty and delicious. I would have stayed another 5 nights if I could have.

Breakfast was great. Location was great, especially for the Port Ellen Ferry. I walked to the distilleries along the Three Distilleries Path, which was a beautiful and tasty experience.
For travelers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms might be shared by other guests, and there's usually shared space with the host.
Both dinner and breakfast were very good, with courteous and friendly staff. View from the restaurant was fabulous. Great location in the centre of town in close proximity to all amenities as well as the Bowmore Distillery.

Lovely little room. Blockout curtains, very comfortable bed and pillows, relatively quiet. Nice to be on the Loch with a view from the window. The staff were lovely.
We stayed four nights in Bowmore in a small but very complete bedroom with perfect shiower. Perfectly cleaned each day and hygienic. We were very well looked after by Birgit & Joerg in the morning with an excellent breakfast. A wide choice of breakfast selections. Perfectly located in the centre of Bowmore and always parking naar the front door.
This is in a great location in the centre of Bowmore. it’s easy and free to park on the road right outside. The decor is fresh and modern and has been done to a high standard. There are lots of nice little touches to make it special. it’s more private than a b&b and very peaceful and quiet. The king size bed is super comfy. The host is also friendly and helpful.
