We stayed 2 nights, the food is good honest well cooked food, the breakfast is delicious, I must mention the Chef, he came across friendly and looked as he enjoyed what he was doing which showed in the food. we will be staying again, we recommend The Saxon Inn.

A very warm welcome from the host Clare on arrival, including guidance on where to go for something to eat. Comfortable room. A lovely cooked breakfast in the morning which set me up for the day ahead. Very good value for money.

Really well equipped. Comfy beds, felt like home from home. Great location, right in the town centre but quiet. Friendly host when communicating with after. Nice touches such as a few food supplies, coffee, cereal, milk, eggs etc
Great location and although on the high street the bedrooms were very quiet and the four of us slept well. The place was clean and the bedding was good. The welcome hamper and dressing gowns were a nice surprise.
Great location, comfortable and quiet. Very comfy beds, lovely bathrooms and all the home from home items you needed. Great service from Host & Stay. Very easy to book and pay for.
Superb B&B just outside Barnard Castle in the quiet of the countryside. We booked to stay as we had tickets to see a show at the Whitham in Barnard Castle and it was a really easy commute back and forth from the show. Karen the host was lovely and the room was spotless with fantastic views of the farm and the countryside. The fresh scone on arrival was beautiful as was the fresh fruit and cooked breakfast the next morning. The bed was comfortable and the room had a lovely cosy feel.
Fantastic, quaint bed and breakfast. Excellent service in the restaurant and an excellent menu, which was extremely well priced. The rooms were presented well and overall a great location. Would highly recommend.
Great location, just five minutes from the town centre, yet on a private lane that was beautifully quiet. The cottage has good sized rooms (the second double is adequate, but not large) and is very well decorated and equipped. It was spotlessly clean and well presented and very comfortable. The small rear garden was beautiful. There is private parking for two large cars.
