Loved the shabby chic nature of Les Contes and its laid back attitude, do NOT go here if you are expecting the Hilton because its not, it is what it is its a beautiful building run by some amazing people in the most beautiful surroundings.

We were walking the GR367 and the accommodation at Roquefixade was fully booked so Raph very kindly picked us up by car and dropped us off in the morning to resume our walk. He cooked an exceptional evening meal.

Lovely old building, personal service, very short walk to restaurants, but quiet. Breakfast almost all home made was exceptional

The location was perfect for walking. Charming house and garden with a very welcoming host. We had an excellent meal in the evening with other guests for company.
What an absolutely stunning location! Montesegur is a wonderful mountain village with breathtaking scenery. The village was gorgeous - quiet as you'd expect - but lovely. Our hosts Philippe and Nancy were fantastic.
In the village of Montsegur. Mainly used by walkers as a stage on long-distance trail, but we came by car. Our host was very welcoming and told us all about his bees. A quiet spot with not much to do unless you are a keen walker. A haven of peace and quiet for 3 nights.
Montsegur is a small quiet village with immense history & stunning countryside. This small guesthouse is everything you’d imagine. It’s perfectly restored - a traditional rural French house - exposed beams, traditional tiling, open fireplace, the rooms are simply but nicely furnished, bathroom was spotless, plenty of hot water. John the host is a real character and incredibly helpful. For meals everyone sat at the same table so a real sense of pilgrimage and friendly atmosphere. I was so relaxed here. Thoroughly recommend.
The place is full oc character and has all the comfort we expected. The location is fantastic, and the garden charming. Frederic is very helpful and made us feel at home. I only regret not having stayed longer.
The property was charming, very comfortable and the host was concerned that every detail of our stay was perfect. The meals, dinners and breakfasts, were delicious, featured local ingredients and were served beautifully. The living room with its open fire was a pleasure to relax in. Very highly recommended whether you are walkers, bicyclists or drivers.
