the property and breakfast were both lovely, but the biggest highlight is the owners charming and welcoming attitude. Hat's off to Claire and Freddy, and their friendly pets Parker (dog) and cat.
Barbizon itself is also sweet and charming and there are nice walks in the forest.
Chambre d'hôte La Bacotterie is located in Bois-le-Roi. This guest house offers a floral garden, a small terrace and bicycle rental is possible on site. Free WiFi access is available.

The room is enormous and very light, the bed is very comfortable, the bathroom is excellent, the hosts are delightful, friendly and helpful. Easy walking distance to shops and a couple of restaurants.

Loved the room with all the art. It is very spacious and private with a beautiful bathroom and kitchen. Having access to the gallery at night was incredible. Wonderful staff that did everything to make us feel at home.

For travelers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms might be shared by other guests, and there's usually shared space with the host.
The location is great - central to Fontainebleau but also in a quiet spot. We enjoyed having breakfast on the balcony every morning. It was a real bonus to have private parking with a lift to our floor.
Easy walking distance to the city centre, easily accessible by car from the main roads, large parking, very close to the palace, quiet at night and very comfortable! Also I love their breakfast buffet! This is already the second time I stay here, and I will gladly come back!
The Host gracefully waited an extra hour as there were a lot of traffic jams from the airport to the property. The flat is in a quiet back street with a small private garden. Inside it is beautifully decorated and it has all the facilities needed (dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, kettle, microwave oven, normal over, fridge-freezer...) 2 very spacious rooms you could have 5 people there. we were able to have a family dinner there.
A quiet location, very close to the center of the town. A good sized private studio with a small balcony and views as far as the Chateaux de Fontainebleau. The bed was super comfy. Perfect for a few days in Font!
Gerard is a wonderful host. His breakfasts are phenomenal - homemade yogurt, freshly squeezed homemade orange juice, homemade jams and honey … and lots of bread and pastry. The coffee is excellent too.
I stayed as I was attending INSEAD for the week. It’s the perfect location, 8 minutes from campus and 5 minutes into the quaint town centre.
It’s nice and quiet at night and I felt very safe as a lone female traveller.
