The setting and the view where nice, however I wanted to eat outside at one of the tables that the landlady served us a beer at earlier, but then she told me I couldn't because other guests got to use it. Disappointing. I felt "stuck" in my room when she had a huge outdoor area/garden.

Personal welcome. Airco was switched on in the room. Lots of information/documentation on what to do was available plus a personal explanation on options and possibilities in line with our interest. Advise on good restaurants in the area. Breakfast was top (eggs, fruit salad, several jams, fresh orange/apple juice, different cheese, .....). Area to park our electric bikes safely. It was just perfect for our stay and not too far from Saumur center.

The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the lovely donkey that resides in the garden. It added a unique and endearing touch to the castle’s ambiance. Spending time in the garden, getting to know the donkey, and enjoying the tranquil surroundings was a memorable part of my visit.

Valerie and Stepahane were perfect hosts, helping us with all of our needs. They have a little piece of heaven with their garden and animals, and they offer breakfast and different food options. We had the charming tower room with a lovely view of the garden and the Loire river. The beds were very comfortable and the room was en-suite. The whole house was classicly furnished in a 19th century style with a beautiful dining room. We shared the table for breakfast with the other guests, including the charming hostess - something we enjoyed very much. The parking was very secure inside a locked gate.
