The location of the hotel was perfect, away from the busy centre so really quiet but 5 minutes walk to the tram stop which is only 2 stops to the fabulous centre of Bordeaux. Absolutely well-decorated room with a massive bathroom. Perfectly located, literally round the corner from a bustling square with tons of restaurants and bars. Impeccably clean with the sweetest and most thoughtful little touches. Games with cute instructions. Postcards that Maison Fernand will post for free for you. The most tastefully put together basket delivered to our door. And we even got the most pleasant of surprises - a pair of delicious caneles (the best I've ever tasted) on our second evening. But perhaps the most special bit of our stay was the incredible Ahmed who was the most generous, warm and helpful host!

I booked La Chartreuse last minute, and how lucky was I to come across this hidden gem . The location is brilliant being beside the tram and bus stop, which brings you right into the centre, la gare and airport. The place is spotless, and your host Pierre sends a welcome pack via email so you know exactly what to expect. The interior is modern French chic, breakfast is basic, but enough. If I ever have the pleasure of going back to Bordeaux I will 100% stay here.
