Not very often in the days of hyperbolic Tripadvisors &c. you actually come to a place which exceeds your expectations. This was certainly the case at Château de la Foltière. The main attraction is of course the magnificent Jardin Botanique de Haute Bretagne, but the guest rooms in the château which sits in the centre of it are almost as exceptional as the surrounding park. Simple but elegant & the most charming welcome, breakfast you could wish for. A special bonus (for me) was the absence of that huge black television screen which seems to be a 'conditio sine qua non' in hotel rooms these days!

Rose Marie was a lovely host. The breakfast of all homemade, organic breads, spreads and yoghourt was delicious . Very quiet out in the country and the bed was really comfortable so we slept really well. We used the location as a base to visit Mont St Michel and also Fougeres and Rennes. Worked great. Would highly recommend this B&B. Rose Marie cooked us a 3-course meal one night for an extra €20 pp. Delicious.

For travellers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms may be shared by other guests, and there is often shared space with the host.
The house is located in a quiet countryside. The owner family are very friendly, we booked one dinner there, very tasty. And the dining room is very historical and beautiful. They have a lot of plants and flowers in the garden around the house. The price is very reasonable and valuable. We spent a nice time there!
It was quiet and surrounded by beautiful countryside. The bed was extremely comfortable. Stephanie, the owner, was delightful and nothing was too much bother. We ate a super evening meal prepared by her husband. Breakfast was also delicious with homemade jams. It was an overnight stay, but we will definitely return for longer
Wonderful bed and breakfast located in the perfect position for cross-channel ferries. Quiet and peaceful, we had the best nights sleep in a long time. The b&b is clean, tidy and quintessentially French. We opted for an evening meal cooked by the hosts. It was delicious and well worth the extra money. Stephanie is the perfect host, her English is far better than my French, and she is so friendly we felt very at home. This is our second visit and definitely won't be our last. Thank you for your hospitality.

Lovely host. Very kind and patient with my French. Room was clean and although basic it was charming. Mosquito grill over the window. Food was very good. Beautiful dining room.
The farm itself is a wonderful building with nice gardens and amenities. The apartment was big, quiet and comfortable. The kitchen was well supplied with everything required for our stay. Stephanie was a wonderful and helpful host. The cooking, both for dinner and breakfast, is amazing (especially the chicken, raised at the farm, and the homemade apple juice that my kid loved).
Well placed for visiting NE of Brittany (Rennes, Saint Malo, Dinan...), Mont Saint Michel (less than an hour) and even Western Normandy (Bayeux, Omaha Beach...).
Great location, very quiet & peaceful, a building full of character. Very friendly host, enjoyable evening meal & pleasant breakfast. Good value for money.
The hostess was extremely friendly and helpful. Location was quiet and charming and ideal for the dog. Food was great, especially the fresh apple juice and homemade jams.
