I booked late end of the day. However the host was flexible and kind enough to assist me quickly. Really a nice welcome. The accommodation is absolutely beautiful and comfortable. I really liked the decoration and nice details in the house. It's a nice mixture of the history of the building with the comfort of today.

Loved the whole interior and the location of the building which is in the city. Our hostess was very friendly and available to us via phone or closeby. Breakfast was freshly prepared and had all that you need. The rooms are quite clean and there were enough gardins for when you prefer a dark room in the night.

Everything, what's not to like. This is the second time we have stayed, and it won't be the last. Just forty minutes away from the Calais Eurotunnel in a really pretty village.
The facilities are amazing, the shared kitchen is a big bonus. This time round we got to make use of the beautiful bath instead of the shower, always plenty of hot water.
The beds are comfortable, even the pillows were nice, and I'm fussy with pillows. It is quiet at night, despite being in a village, there are some very nice looking restaurants close by that we unfortunately didn't get to try this time.
Thank you so much for a lovely stay, and for a very nice breakfast too, we'll definitely be back, again 😊

We chose this property as it had good reviews and because it offered half board. We were very disappointed that the lady that opened the door was not welcoming and appeared surprised that we turned up . We have had a very long journey that day with our children and we were looking forward to having dinner . The lady rushed us upstairs and when we enquired about time for dinner she told us it’s not possible without offering us an explanation. We were baffled
as there were people downstairs having dinner . The lady told us that there were other places to eat in the town, however, due to being the 27 of December there were not opened and we did not have where to eat . Not the Christmas spirit that you would have hoped from the owners .
The gentleman that served us breakfast in the morning was polite and attentive. Unfortunately when leaving, he did charge us an extra tax despite the booking saying “all taxes included “ . I did raise this with him and he said that it’s an extra local charge and it’s not much . I didn’t have the energy to challenge him on this and we were in a rush to catch the ferry. Sad and disappointed that a place that looked lovely decorated for Christmas lacked the warmth from the people running the place . We will not return or recommend.
For travellers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms may be shared by other guests, and there is often shared space with the host.
A very comfortable stay in this lovely hotel. Bergues is an attractive town with a strong sense of community. The hotel is close to the main square in a quiet road with free parking on the street. The hotel restaurant is excellent, as is the hospitality.
Such a friendly and engaging reception on arrival, felt very welcome and happy in this peaceful and comfortable space. We had room 4 up on the second floor and it was lovely, huge, cool and beautifully decorated with a bath and shower, three windows. We enjoyed our evening picnic meal at the table on the patio, coffee and tea available. Great location, nice bar/restaurant around the corner and a beautiful town to walk around. Definitely highly recommend.
I have stayed regularly at Au Tonnelier over many years and have never been less than impressed with their appraoch to hotel-keeping. The buildings are carefully maintained and regularly decorated, the faclilities are up to date and the restaurant excellent and good value with an excellent breakfast. The staff have always been unfailingly polite and well trained. This is my go-to stop both coming and going from France as it's within an hour of ferry or Le Shuttle.
Hotel is located in a good location in the centre of town but quiet area. Had a nice dinner in the hotel restaurant. Good breakfast with plenty of choice.
This was our second visit. The rooms are spacious, beautifully clean and the decoration is best described as eccentric!! Breakfast is absolutely delicious & the host, Valerie is charming and friendly.
Charming French establishment with a nice restaurant, popular with locals. Quaint old town house with stairs in different directions. In the centre of Bergues. Accepts dogs.
