They have worked diligently to renovate an old house and the grounds, and they have done a great job. Carpe Diem is a super value for the cost. The location is exceptional for peace and quiet, but it is quite convenient to Beaulieu and Argentat, which are bustling little towns.

Everything was great: the building is beautiful, the room was clean and modern, the restaurant was excellent, and the staff was friendly and thoughtful. Martel is a great town to spend a night in.
For travelers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms might be shared by other guests, and there's usually shared space with the host.
Great location and very peaceful setting. Emma and Richard are very approachable and gave us some excellent local recommendations. The house was clean, tidy and well equipped.
We had a wonderful stay with Hazel (and Josephine the dog!) who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and fun, even lending us her kayaks to potter along the river. Beautiful room, lots of outside space to sit and enjoy, and a great location close to town and the river. Thank you so much!
