This is a covered campsite on the edge of Luxor. I paid about $15 per night for a large room with a good cooked dinner and breakfast. The owner was superb, and even offered to lend me his private car.

Yasmine Guest House is, in fact, two houses together with a swimming pool in between. They are working on a further extension at the back. It could be a little difficult to find as the West Bank of Luxor is all narrow lanes which are not all suitable for minibuses or vans. However, it is two minuets walk from the river and 10-15 from the public ferry to Luxor city. I think the West Bank is a better option for staying in Luxor as it is much less busy and more "authentic" plus there are several good restaurants on the river front
The staff at the guest house are very friendly and helpful and can organise everything you need. Karim, the guide, supplied us with a Spanish speaking guide and transport for the two days, and Nasser also helped us by arranging a driver to take us to Aswan through Esna, Edfu and Kom Ombo (all worth visiting).
Our first morning we also went for a walk around the neighbourhood (as recommended by Karim) and that was fascinating.
Nasser (the owner) also arranged an evening faluca trip which we all thoroughly enjoyed. All in all, a good place to stay away from the noise and hassle of the city.

Couldn’t have had a nicer time staying with Austin and Abeer, who were so welcoming to us giving us local tips and OH MY GOD Abeer’s cooking is out of this world! Our only regret in retrospect was going out for dinner on our first night as we missed out on Abeer’s cooking.

Reviews often negatively mention the location. I did not mind it. It was not that remote, taxi drivers emphasize its remotness but they need to make a living. Medinet Habou is not far, Colossi of Memnon, also walking distance, there are great views on the way, plenty of interesting countryside sights. There are even shops not far from the place, not on the map and the hotel staff won't tell you about them, because they also need to make a living.

Our stay at Dar Lina Guesthouse was absolutely fantastic. The facilities were great and the flat is fully equipped with anything you could need. We had the flat on the ground floor and it came with a beautiful garden, two rooms, a living room with TV, two bathrooms and kitchen. One of the things we enjoyed the most was the fact that there is a washing machine, which is a great asset when walking around in dusty and hot Luxor. I think this flat is perfect for a family or even a group of friends, and even though there are nice hotels on the other side of the Nile, we really appreciated being in a neighbourhood that felt authentic, for instance, only a few minutes away from the flat there is a banana field that is absolutely beautiful. Finally, the flat is 5min away from a main street with little shops to buy food, etc and a 10min walk will take you to the ferry that crosses the Nile. The flat is also perfectly located if you plan on visiting the Valley of Kings, as it's only 15/20min by car.

Location on the west bank was close to the public ferry and easy to book a private one! Made it very easy to get around. Coming back the boat negotiations were a bit harder, but nothing major.
The rooftop was lovely and Karim was very kind and helpful. Everything was also very clean!

Great location in a quiet area of the West Bank, but 5 min away from the ferry/private boat dockings, cafes, and restaurants. The room was really clean and comfortable, as well as the swimming pool, where to dip after hot days.
Ibrahim and the rest of the staff were super friendly and attentive. I arrived really late in the night, and he organised a very smooth pick up at the airport. Recommended ++

I booked a shared room, but as there was a low season and not as many tourist (July) I received a lovely private room with a private bathroom for the same price.
The manager is very nice and helpful, always offering delicious tea and giving some advices for my trip plans. He also organized for me the hot balloon tour - cheap and well organized.

It is at a great location close to private/public ferries. Clean and pretty rooms next to a quiet canal and friendly, very helpful staff. You can also rent bikes there to explore the city.

Villa Diletta is a wonderful private little house just a short distance from the Nile on a quiet street. Staying on the west bank is so much nicer, quiet and closer to most of the sites to visit. Mohammed is a great host, welcoming and helpful. The Villa is lovely, big rooms and well equipped. Excellent shower.

The place is so peaceful and quiet. You can even hear birds singing! And it's a joy to meet neighbours hanging out in the steeet and children playing.
The roof terrace has just been renovated, and a great place to hang out.

Great location in a quiet area on the West Bank of Luxor. Mohamed is a great host, very quick to respond and gave us great tips on crossing the Nile and where to eat /drink. The accomodation is a good size for a couple and loved the addition of having a fridge and little kitchen. I recommend letting the host know what time you’re arriving and it’s all smooth sailing.
