After a week in Santa Maria, where the cacophony of car noise and barking dogs tested our patience, we finally found a sanctuary in Vila Verde. It was here that we met Peter, an incredibly kind and helpful man who immediately made our stay a memorable experience.
The apartment was spacious and sparkling clean, perfectly equipped with everything we could dream of. Every little detail had been thoughtfully considered, making us feel right at home. Peter ensured that we had all we needed, and his warm and welcoming nature made us feel instantly at ease.

The location is very nice, in a quiet area but on the same time very short distance walk from the center. I had breakfast twice during the time I stayed and it was tasty and with variety.

Boutique hotel, reasonably priced, locally run, on edge of Santa Maria but easy walk to town centre. Close to beach. Quiet and relaxed. Food in the evening excellent. Warm and friendly staff, very helpful. Room was large, simply furnished with local touches, very comfortable. Clean and pleasant. Pool never too busy. Overall, as a couple without children, so much nicer than being in a huge anonymous resort that sends profits overseas!

The room was nice (except the view for which we even paid extra), comfortable bed and good location, a bit away from the city center, so calm and quiet but still within a short foot walk.

Good WiFi (was working a bit, balcony was great for that too) Kitchen has a cafetière, toaster,… Good shower although sometimes bathroom smells not so fresh (no windows). Good mattress and lots of storage space. Washing machine!

A big apartment a few minutes from the beach, in a quiet and nice part of the town but not far from the centre; in other words, a pretty great location. The apartment has its own private patio, a living room / kitchen, a large main bedroom with a double bed and a tiny single bedroom (no window there). There is a good wifi. The owners have a great little shop next door where you can buy all the basics for the same price (or even cheaper) than in other shops. Note that if you want to cook, you need to pay extra (2 euros a day) for the gas.
