All around nice. In general, the staff very nice and helpful except for one incident (which for me and my safety very important) the person from the ranch said that the access road is not a problem (I wanted to leave the car in a safe place) on the second day we wanted to leave the ranch and because of the flooded road was not possible, if you have nice weather you can manage, because as not (as we did), first you have a problem with access and above all with leaving. (Take into account that insurance is unlikely to cover extreme rides). Because when it's rainy you can't see the road is flooded by the surrounding river.

The room was spacious and clean. The hosts were amazing and gave me a little night tour around the gardens. The kitchen had enough basics for me to be able to make breakfast.
The property is in a lovely little town with two volcanoes to look at and it's within walking distance of supermarkets etc.

It was the best stay (sofar) on my costa rica holiday. I was really blown away. Super nice Bungalow, with all you need: comfy bed, coach, kitchen and great terasse with hammocks. Lovely and cosy. The breakfast was very good and Angie who is working there showed me a lot of birds and sloths The tour about the plants groeing at their property was also great. The weather was not great but I enjoyed bird watching directly from my terasse

We received a warm welcome from Mario. He was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay - on one occasion he arranged an evening meal reservation for us at Rancho Don Luis (they opened up just to accommodate us and the other couple staying at Amazilia). Our room was an adequate size - the wide bed was very comfortable and the shower worked well (though the water wasn't hot). We made very good use of the lovely pool area. The dining area was great and we enjoyed the breakfasts - the cook was also responsible for cleaning the rooms and the property and she did a great job. Amazilia is ideally located for Parque Nacional Rinco de la Vieja - unfortunately, during our stay, the park was closed due to the excessive rainfall Costa Rica had been having. We ate 3 times at nearby Rancho Los Gavilanes - it has a lovely setting by a river.

I have already booked to stay again! This Hostel has been lovingly decorated and is well-kept, with kind staff and lots of communal space both indoors and out. Very close to the bus station, good WIFI, well-equipped kitchen, plenty of bathrooms...this was super value and I think the photos do not do full justice : )

Beautiful bed and breakfast with lots of rustic charm. The gardens and outdoor pool were a highlight, and it is very close to national park. We had breakfast and dinner there, both were amazing!! You can tell a lot of love goes into their cooking and sitting down for dinner together was a great way to meet other travelers
For travellers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms may be shared by other guests, and there is often shared space with the host.
I would highly recommend staying in these bungalows. We had one that had a private pool off the back deck. It was so nice to end and start our day in the private hot spring right outside our door! The staff are very attentive, printed off an activity sheet for us with things to do in the area and the food in the restaurant was good. We saw tucans, parrots and capybara on the grounds while we were in the hot springs.
Breakfast was delicious with yogurt from the families dairy and a full gallo pinto array. The staff learned our names when we arrived and used them throughout our stay. Also they gave us a complimentary watermelon drink upon arrival that was delicious! The hot springs were wonderful and there were 6 or 7 pools of varying temperatures to enjoy. The views of Volcan Miravailles from the pools are stunning. Clean, quiet, safe, great value for the money, very glad we stayed here!
Great ambience, you are right in the middle of nature and it is very calm and relaxing. The view from breakfast was very peaceful. Clean and spacious room, and Francisco is a great host.

Charming tiny hotel tucked away in rural CR half hours drive from Rincon de la Vieja National Pk. Super friendly and accommodating hosts made us feel as if we were on a home stay lesrnjng sbout the area, the culture, history and people of CR.
Meals they provided were amazing. Very well cooked food with fresh ingredient. We had both breakfast and dinner. It costed about 80 CAD for both of us. Not cheap, but you really have no where else to go from this lodge. The place was remote, so it was very quite. They have a cute beautiful garden and house animals(chickens and a horse) are around. Hosts are very friendly.
