Staff were very friendly and helpful even with limited English. Organised taxis to and from train station. Location excellent, beautiful courtyard, and all clean. Great Chinese traditional furniture in room but it’s all very dark brown, so makes the room look/feel dark.

Pingyao Baichanghong Inn, hotel in Pingyao

Boasting a shared lounge and views of city, Pingyao Baichanghong Inn is a guest house set in a historic building in Pingyao, a few steps from Xie Tong Qing Draft Bank.

Beautiful accommodation at the centre of ancient city of Pingyao in the bustling South Street. The owner and staff are very friendly, warm and helpful. They picked us up from the station and brought us to Ancient City (cars are not allowed inside) and also brought us on the day of departure, both for very reasonable fees, because we were with 5, too many for a taxi. The hotel and rooms were in a traditional style, allowing for great pictures. The beds and cushions were very comfortable for us. The bathroom and toilet are combined in a small room, but it wasn't bothersome. The owner knows the nearby shops and good spots to go to, definitely ask for tips. We enjoyed our 2 nights and 3 days in Pingyao a lot, definitely recommended.

    1) a very authentic room, quiet, cozy, with a good bathroom, air conditioning and a complimentary bottle of chilled water; 2) the hotel is in the old town, fairly easy to find, especially since the owner himself came out to greet you; 3) a very quiet place; 4) the owner speaks English, which is very rare for China.

Property location is perfect, they can arrange the pick up for free at your arrival to the train station and also back for your departure. Rooms are very new and clean and looks like a hotel boutique. Staff does not speak english but they manage to comunicate using google translate and they were very helpful on providing information about what to do in the city. We were departing early morning and they adapted breakfast schedule so we could eat before leaving which was very kind

Many many thanks to Alice and her team for being so welcoming and for helping me get the tickets to visit Pingyao’s main historical monuments. The place is clean, very quiet and ideally located. A moment out of time in an old house of the imperial era. +++ for the great breakfast!

An amazing stay in central Pingyao Old Town. The hotel is very stylishly decorated (in contrast to many other cheesy ones in Pingyao. The room is spacious and the courtyard is nice and quiet. The breakfast is mostly homemade and delicious. The staff is super friendly and attentive. They treated us with tea upon arrival, then afternoon tea. They even remember we preferred whole meal bread from the previous day’s breakfast. It’s not a cheap place (given the general price level in China) but it’s a very memorable experience.
