I arrived on a very stormy day during the Haute Route.trek and was able to check in early.
Comfortable beds, balcony and a nespresso machine too.
About ten minutes walk from the train station.
Not much going on in St Niklaus but the bar and restaurant were popular with locals and residents. Decent pizza and salad though service was quite slow!

Good view high above the valley, so quieter than staying in the valley. friendly staff, comfortable room. Staff were kind, I was going to leave earlier than the normal breakfast time & they left out a breakfast plate for me to help myself in the morning was lovely.
I liked everything very much, excellent breakfast and gorgeous view from the room, location is great, the staff is very friendly and did a great job, it’s a pity that I couldn’t say goodbye during the check-out, I was afraid to miss the train.
The location of this hotel is great for starting the Europaweg walk along the Mattertal. You need to walk downhill first to Herbriggen then up again to the Europahut. It's a very quiet village and the hotel has everything you would need for a good night's stay. The welcome from the owners was very helpful, the evening meal was great, the room and bed were very good and the breakfast was good. the picnic provided for the next day was really good!
This hotel has gifted me with one the BEST VIEWS I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. Waking up and looking out from the balcony was an unforgettable experience. The great location, super nice breakfast (with a view), awesome warmth and hospitality from the staff fully offset the “average” rooms and make this place more than worth the travel! Let me also suggest you to take advantage of the racletterie: super dinner served by a super nuce staff at the perfect price!
