Even in the winter off season, Thistle Hill offered the perfect location and size to host our party of 5 for a couple of days in Hunter Valley. Due to the short visit and weather we didn’t take advantage of being in walking distance to wineries but there were several along the main road. Hosts were exceptionally friendly and helpful in arranging the bedding to fit our needs. They even set up the fire pit for us to enjoy our first night, which the kids loved!

We are a group of 4 (two couples)and we absolutely loved staying at Hill Top Country Guesthouse. The location in the middle of Hunter Valley is amazing and there are so many activities to do around. The views are great. The guest house had an old fashioned style, but was very clean.
Margaret is a kind hard-working woman who has been very hospitable to us. We would definitely stay here again.
For travelers who enjoy beauty in the simple things, a bed and breakfast (B&B) is the perfect place for a getaway. Hosts welcome guests into their homes and provide a private room and complimentary breakfast. Bathrooms might be shared by other guests, and there's usually shared space with the host.
We loved everything about the property. It was private enough, quiet, overlooking bush land. Perfect spot for a weekend getaway. And SO close to everything that you’d want in the Hunter Valley
Great location, quiet and private
Friendly, professional Caretaker Geoff who went out of his way to help and very approachable professional face of the business. Thanks Geoff!
The accomodation is self-catering so we took our own food. The location is very convenient but you do require a car for transport to get to the various wine estates etc. The house is very private and quiet with netflix, wi-fi and lovely hot water. We loved sitting around the fire pit at sunset and the horses are very friendly. It was really good to have our dog with us and she had a lovely time.
The property is in a great location, close to vineyards and nestled in bushland. The cabin has the basics covered (tea, coffee and milk) plus facilities for a private BBQ. The cabins are quite private and set on a small property which is great for allowing our dog to explore without the concern of traffic.
