High On Penguin, hotel in Penguin

Featuring a patio with mountain views, a garden and barbecue facilities, High On Penguin can be found in Penguin, close to Penguin Beach and 700 metres from Johnsons Beach.

The house has a comfortable, spacious, family friendly vibe with an incredible collection of music themed memorabilia which adds to the interest. It has a wonderful view of the town of Penguin and the coast. Very close to the waterfront, cafes and shops. You can look out for pods of dolphins in the morning and listen out for the sound of penguins in the evening or head down to the many options to view penguins along the waterfront - we were fortunate enough to see both. The Spirit of Tasmania can also be seen heading back and forth across the horizon. We also visited the quiet (non crowded) Penguin Beach with its golden sand and beautiful warm January water.

We felt very welcomed to this little oasis, the owner of the property showed us around (there’s even a well kept garden with fruit trees and chickens!) The cottage we stayed at was packed with all the essentials with the bonus of handmade items that we enjoyed a lot!

This was one of the best small hotels we have stayed in. The Madsen is a lovely comfortable hotel. The vibe is stylish & relaxed. We spent an evening in the lounge area reading & relaxing. There’s a great selection of wines & beer with honesty system for payment. We could help ourselves to fresh fruit & fresh ground coffee. The rooms were quiet and comfortable. There was everything we needed.

beautiful style boutique hotel, comfy beds, near the beach, really centric and very good value for money and all the small things are much appreciated like the chocolate, the cherry wine etc, another plus is the quiet and free of noise hotel, surroundings and the room my family really enjoyed the stay, we will return certainly.
