Lovely tucked away place, very comfortable and close to some nice pubs and resteraunts. A great breakfast was served in the morning. The garden area is also nice to stroll around.

Room was very comfortable. We had the King Room with the Balcony to the outside over looking the street. Didn't really like that the flashing lights for Christmas that were left on all night and day. We didn't see the switch outside until the morning so should of turned them off earlier. Not so sure about the breakfast as serve yourself. Seemed a bit strange. We had plenty of fresh food and it was adequate. The owner should reconsider the cooked breakfast option like previous owners had as it was a good option. Close to shops on Swan Street and the Campbell Stores as only a short walk away. Clothing stores only generally open Saturday and only till around 2.30-3pm.

We enjoyed our stay at Mala Retreat, Shiraz suite. it is in a quite and peaceful neighbourhood. The unit is very well maintained and clean. The pantry is awesome and well stocked with variety for breakfast. it is easily accessible to hunter valley and Newcastle.

The beer garden was a great space with a welcome (for me) integrated smoking area not segregated as it is in so many other places. I’ll certainly be returning… and recommending to others

Facilities were great and nice and spacious and the remote check in and out is great makes it simple and arrival easy. Also in a great location plenty of food nearby and nice and quiet to sleep.
The host Alison was very welcoming and called to check our arrival. The rooms were beautifully decorated and comfortable. Lovely old house carefully restored with modern bathrooms and other amenities. Separate seating areas with great pleasant views of the garden. Very quiet and private. Was travelling with my elderly mother so Alison selected rooms in the same wing of the house for convenience.

Adams st is a beautiful quiet st, no through road so you will never hear traffic as only people who live there will be driving on the street.
Fantastic quality home, quaint and well looked after garden, the brickwork has been repointed and they did an incredible job!
