I recently visited Rothesay for a business meeting at Mount Stuart. As a wheelchair user, I had booked a wheelchair-accessible room in Boat House Super Suites, and I was impressed with how smoothly everything was handled—the ramp was promptly ready upon my arrival.
The accommodation offered a breath-taking view, perfectly overlooking the ferry as it departed and arrived from Rothesay to Wemyss Bay. The room was spotless and well-maintained, providing a very comfortable stay. The host family was absolutely fantastic—warm, attentive, and accommodating.
Breakfast was a treat, with a variety of options including cereals, milk or yogurt, and fresh bread. Everything was thoughtfully kept to cater to different preferences.
The location was another highlight. Rothesay’s centre, the cinema, and the ferry terminal were all within easy walking (or wheeling) distance, making it very convenient to get around.
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and wouldn’t hesitate to return to Rothesay and stay at this wonderful accommodation again. Highly recommended!

Perfect location for anyone visiting Bute . The hotel is within a mile of the ferry terminal at Rothsay. I was lucky enough to be allocated a room at the front of the hotel which provided a magnificent view over the entry to the harbour. Breakfast was very good with lots of choices from the menu.
