It is large, well-equipped and tastefully decorated-- seemingly brand new and definitely the finest apartment we have ever rented on Booking.com. It would be an excellent apartment for a long-term stay. I hope that all future guests keep the apartment in great shape. The building itself is in transition. It looks a little run down from the outside, but people seem to be converting the former hotel into condominiums. This apartment is finished, but others are works in progress and it shows outside. The complex is beside a beach which is nice. It seems to be a secure location. It is also within walking distance of DaGama's pillar and the Portuguese chapel. There is a good restaurant up the beach for lunch and dinner, and a place to eat breakfast in a Swahili restaurant across from the Portuguese chapel. It was difficult for us to find it when we first arrived. It is located in the Oasis Village in Malindi. The tuk-tuk drivers will know where it is if you tell them that. It is best to contact the owner a little ahead of time before you get there so you can get more specific directions. In general, it was a very good stay and the minor complaints I have were more than overbalanced by the quality of the apartment.

Brian is the best host ever, he was always reachable and whenever I had a request he was immediately available to help me. I had a little accident to my leg while in Kenya and he even took me to the hospital by his own car and waited for me. The apartment is clean and the mattress very comfortable. Plus there is all that you need if you want to cook by yourself. There is a nice terrace to enjoy the breeze of Kilifi. The water dispenser is very handy and the wifi connection was very strong the whole time so I could watch movies on the large tv. The beautiful beach is just a walking distance from the property. Cleanliness, convenience, peaceful atmosphere, facilities, service, fabulous cool verandah and pool. All the staff are wonderful. Close to great mall with the best ice cream, patisseries, fruit and veg shop and supermarket with everything you need. There is a pharmacy, clinic and atm also. Close to beach. Generator comes on when needed. Well equipped kitchen. Quiet. Winnie our housekeeper/chef was the best - her seafood was divine and she makes a wonderful breakfast with pancakes. She spoilt us lots ensuring the place and our things were spotless. Gorgeous flowering bushes everywhere. We are already planning our next trip as the kids insist on it!
