The apartments, against a backdrop of golden sun ray in the late afternoon, greeted us in a very pleasant way when we arrived. They were new and clean. The kitchens were well equipped. A special thanks went to the host who came to alert us of an approaching hurricane that basically closed most of the roads in northern and eastern Iceland for days. She managed to give us the heads up and advise us to closely monitor the weather forecast and road conditions before we checked out. Her advice was essential for keeping us safe as we then extended our stay at the next stop to take shelter from the strong wind and sleet.

A recently renovated apartment, Hallfreðarstaðir 1 Apartments offers accommodation in Hallfreðarstaðir. This property offers access to a patio, free private parking and free WiFi. The bed was comfortable, the location was far off the beaten tourist track with lovely views of meandering cows, and the kitchen was well-equipped. We also loved the heated bathroom floors.

Undiraldan - Steinholt, old music school is situated in Seyðisfjörður. The property has mountain and garden views, and is 3.8 km from Gufufoss. We loved this apartment, it was more like a house with its two floors. Especially considering how tiny places are in Iceland & it was good value. Spacious, comfortable, quiet, very nicely furnished & well equipped (though a microwave would have been good). Good view over the village & mountains. We didn’t meet the owner but the notes were fine
