Fabian and his wife were very friendly, and with broken Spanish and English, we were able to communicate fairly well only resorting to the translator when it was important. Atuntaqui is a beautiful town with an amazing view of Cotachochi, a 5000-meter volcano. It is also centrally located to all of the towns in Ibarra Canton (A UNESCO site) I wanted to visit.

It's a nice studio apartment in the center of town, below is an ice cream shop and below that is clothes store. The apartment is modern and has hot water not only in the shower but also in the sinks. The view from the terrace is very nice, and there's a washing machine and area to hang-dry your clothes. Very good high-speed wifi.

Hosteria Rose Cottage offers beautiful views of Otavalo and the surrounding volcanoes. It boasts an on-site restaurant and fully furnished apartments and houses with private terraces. The views are stunning, the service supper and the silence is most welcome. All in all, if you can live without tv, with slow internet and love the outdoors make sure to stay there a while.
