The apartment has 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, bed linen, towels, a flat-screen TV, a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a balcony with garden views. Guests can take in the ambience of the surroundings from an outdoor dining area. Barbara was a fantastic host. She was very accommodating and had many tips on what we could do on the island. She picked us up on arrival and we already felt welcomed.

All self-catering units are located in subtropical gardens including palm trees, Hawaiian hibiscus and fragrant frangipani flowers. Each apartment features a TV and a private bathroom with a hairdryer. All include a kitchenette with a microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge. Some also have an oven. First of all, Lord Howe Island is one of the most beautiful destinations we have ever encountered, and the Somerset Apartments were a wonderful place to stay while enjoying the island. We visited the museum, and went scuba diving, bird watching, and hiking. The apartments are basic, and ours had a small kitchenette with a microwave and refrigerator, which allowed us to cook small meals. The apartments are very conveniently located, midway and a short walk to both Ned's and Lagoon beaches. There is only one restaurant nearby, but there are two small grocery stores that had some small pre-made meals for the microwave or burgers. There is homemade ice-cream at the post office, and a food truck at Ned's beach when we were there. For slightly more distant restaurants, a shuttle for pickup can be arranged. We had to cancel our first night because the weather delayed our plane, but we were aware of the 8 week cancellation policy, and the management provided us a letter for reimbursement from our travel insurance. We hope one day we can go back!

All include a private bathroom with a shower, hairdryer and bathrobes (on request). Great location, apartment was spotless and spacious with very comfy bed. Had everything you could require for short or long term stay. Grounds were kept immaculate, lovely outdoor areas for relaxing including bbq.

I loved my stay at Somerset. It was my first time to the island and this place was centrally located within short walking distance to shops, beaches and hiking trials. Yet, it offered a sense of seclusion hidden amongst lush subtropical gardens. The apartments were simplistic yet comfortable and very clean with a renovated bathroom. I was pleasantly surprised to have access to reliable wifi. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, I appreciated the free airport transfers. I look forward to coming back someday.
Great welcoming helpful staff somerset apartments was also in such a great location! A lot of people insist on bikes to get around but everything was so close for the most part we just walked!
Excellent location, lovely and helpful staff. Apartments are simple yet functional and clean. Probably one of the best value for money accommodation you can get on the island.
Lorhiti was well equipped for you to cater and relax at home and beautiful gardens surrounded the apartments where you could read a book or enjoy a wine. We were met at the airport by a lovely couple from Western Australia who drove us the scenic route back to Lorhiti and provided us with lots of information on places to visit, cafes to eat at etc. It was a 10 minute walk from our accomodation down a private track to Ned’s Beach which was excellent for snorkelling.
It was surrounded by lovely vegetation and was very quiet. It was clean and comfortable and the host was informative and helpful. Self catering was possible.
Loved the location - super close to everything and it is on the flat bit, so no big hills to climb like someone of the other accomodation on the island. Bathroom was fully renovated, new nice and clean and the whole space was quite large. We had everything we needed.
BBQ facilities Wifi is starlink powered, I can have GVC Close to Ned Beach, best shore dive snorkeling I ever had, we ended up going there 3 times Can walk to restaurants / bike rentals
Location was close to most things and flat terrain to get to and from them. Verandah, privacy, drop off to restaurants for dinner, comfy bed, plenty of BBQs, recycling, bike parking, gorgeous gardens, bird calls.
We loved everything about Somerset Apartments and we'll stay there again next time. The transit lounge is a fantastic feature
