Though the rains did not allow my family and I to walk around as planned, I liked the fact that it was close to the subway station at 50th, where we could locate all other areas of interest.
The apartment was neat. The 3 bedrooms, kitchen, sitting room, and dining were all functional and excellently laid out. Though it was small, it did the job, and the price was good for a property at such a location. Everything from corner shops, barbers, show repairs, and a nice Mexican restaurant to host your guests were within a few metres radius.
I also particularly appreciate the passion of the host who made every effort to resolve an issue we experienced. We had jammed one of the bedroom doors, and even though it was late and raining, he ensured it was resolved that same night. Checking in was also seamless.

The apartment was perfect for our needs. Although we did not cook the full sized kitchen was very handy for breakfast and snacks. The apartment is up two flights of stairs. Once inside the apartment is quiet and lovely but the building itself was a bit dirty. We loved the location which was super handy to all our needs. Great restaurants and easy access to groceries and public transport. We mainly walked 5 minutes to Union Square subway then it was a quick, easy commute to anywhere. Joe's pizzas across the road are excellent. Communication was prompt and very easy. We really enjoyed our 11 night stay here and enjoyed the extra space we would not have had in a hotel.

Often available for short and long-term.
We were greeted with sparkling rose, upgraded to an apartment for free, and they kept the pool open a little later for us since we arrived late due to the global tech outage. It was wonderful! Especially the staff.
This hotel in "Latin" Queens might be an option for a short stay, but be prepared for basic facilities. While the location is convenient - close to trains for Manhattan and JFK access, with a free LGA shuttle nearby - the rooms themselves are nothing special. There are restaurants and shops within walking distance, but it's not ideal for a longer stay. The view was great, but that's about it.
Good breakfast included in the cost of the room; efficient reception staff; spacious room with large flatscreen tv and excellent recharging facilities; lovely bathroom with large, easy to operate shower. The hotel doesn't offer restaurant facilities, but there are useful vending machines in the foyer dispensing snacks and (non-alcoholic) drinks.
Long Island City is a great place to stay as it's just a short subway ride from Manhattan and much cheaper.
Ricardo is the absolute perfect host who cannot do enough to make you feel welcome. His attention to detail is outstanding and like many others said, his property is absolutely spotless! He helped a lot getting around on public transport which was very useful.
The bathroom is spacious, the bedroom has everything one needs and the apartment is definitely in a higher category than many hotels I have stayed in.
