I'm totally in love with Luis place! It was a perfect place to stay in for our 10 days NYC trip. It gives us a space to chill down after intensive day of exploring New York. All 4 of us had a space to have a minute for ourself. Apartment is well equipped, we have everything needed. Bed were super comfortable. Bus stops just around the corner with few lines that will take you directly in the area of Time Square in 15-30 minutes, even late in the evening. Don't worry about the distance between the apartment and Manhattan, because it is truly not an issue. What is worth to mention, apartment is absolutely beautiful with all the decorations and furnitures. It is not another soulless place for tourist just to sleep in, this is the place that you want to stay in and enjoy! And what is more... from the area you will have THE BEST view for Manhattan. Totally recommend taking the walk and enjoy the view. Neighborhood is safe, with shops, bakery, restaurant around the corner. We tried Salvadorian place and bakery near by and both were really nice.
Luis was a wonderful host to us. He explained to us how to use bus ticket app, give many useful hints. Hopefully I will get back someday :)

The Apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. The owner is very friendly and helped when we had questions.

Absolutely nothing.
Everything is falling apart, rusty, mouldy and overall dirty and well passed its use by date.
The floors have holes underneath the carpet so the floor is uneven and dangerous.
The main gas boiler for the entire house is in the apartment which is in the basement of the house. Carbon monoxide alarm was there but without batteries so completely useless.
It was cold and there were limited windows for light given it’s in the basement, although we checked out within hours of arrival because it was so bad so can’t comment on the light.
Serious security issues see following comments.
