We discovered a local place of interest which was unplanned , but turned out to be a fun outing - The nearby (20km) Pulo do Lobo, a river with a small waterfall.

Maria has gone to a lot of effort to make her apartment very comfortable, exactly as described and extremely well equipped with many little treats to enhance your stay. Great place to relax for a couple of days in beautiful Mertola. Very highly recommended.

This property exceeded our expectations. The apartment has unique style and beautiful fireplace. The kitchen is well stocked.
The village is small, peaceful with coffee place just 1 minute walk away.
Mértola is worth a visit! Beautiful small town with lots of history and several decent restaurants above a scenic river. The apartment is quite well equipped, the main bedroom is good and the bed as well. Bathroom is nice as well (one morning no warm water, not a big problem in a Portuguese summer). Walking distance to everything and on street parking close to the door. The host is not on site, but responsive via WhatsApp. Very nice and spacious terrace (street side, no privacy though).
As well- appointed, quiet and comfortable ground floor apartment on a hill with views over the town. The flat is spacious and very comfortable and has lots of facilities such as a washing machine. Car parking is close by.
There is a supermarket, ironmonger and restaurants close by. The lovely old town is within walking distance, but be prepared for some steep hills!
The host, Maria, was very helpful in booking us a restaurant in advance, meeting us to let us in and answering a query whilst we were there.
