Apartments in Manteigas

Very comfortable in the center of a lovely mountain village. The place had everything we needed and nice beds.

I also requested and paid for 2 bedrooms and we had to sleep in one small double bed. In the morning when we checked out after 2 nights she pointed to a door and said we could have used the other main floor bedroom. I had tried the other door when we we checked in but it was locked with a key that she never told us about a 2 nd bedroom. She was also very rude and asked me why we don’t speak Portuguese in a nasty way. I told her we are 78 and 82 and she was just rude. The second day after a terrible nigh not sleeping I was so tired being awake because of my husbands snoring. We had to rest on the beds all day since there was no comfortable place in the dining room. There was no lounge in the apartment. When we woke up from a nap she said what’s the matter with you two? Why didn’t you go out in a hide way and then proceeded to to tell me that she was 45, or 55 and she is strong and does all the work and still had energy. All I could respond to that was that when she was 78, my age or 82 for my husbands age then tell me how much energy she had especially since 3 weeks before we got Covid and with my heart issues took over 2 weeks and I was finally starting to get my strength back. Also her 5 dogs barked and her sick dog in pain kept us awake as he was just outside our door whining in pain. I love animals and we were traveling with our 2 small dogs and our cat since he wants to go wherever our dogs go. It gets even worse when we checked out and charged us 65 euros for our animals for the 2 nights. She had to do nothing for our dogs, we clean up their poo and always do when traveling. I asked her why the fee was so high and she said it was because she had to pay Booking.com 20% to booking to get people to stay in her apartment. That was the final thin she said. I would not recommend anyone who needs a comfortable place to watch a big TV , or sit and relax never stay here. Also if you are elderly if you do not want to be criticized stay somewhere else.

Isabel is a very friendly host and is always available if you need support. The location is very convenient if you want to explore the Serra da Estrela region. Wi-fi worked pretty well if you are close to the router. Everything was very clean.

A very comfortable and spacious property close to old town. The balcony was great and had a fabulous view. All the amenities needed for a short or even extended stay. Good communication with staff.

Paula and Marcia are the best hosts we've ever stayed with. When we travel, we enjoy getting to know people through food and agriculture, and they were 100% helpful with that. They made it their mission to make our trip as pleasant as possible. They were friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. I can't say enough good things about them. We thought of them not only as our residence hosts, but our tour guides, and our friends. The room was clean, and comfortable, and the breakfasts were the best of our portuguese vacation! The water pressure was great, with unlimited hot water. Internet worked well with ~30/20Mbps and 30ms latency.
