The house had all the facilities we needed. Having the beach at the doorstep is a luxury. The vicinity is very quiet and we felt safe all the time, even when we had to keep 4 electrical bicycles outside the building for 2 nights. The location is perfect for families and for sport/nature lovers - quiet beach, good waves, mountain (just a 5-km hike away), a gorgeous North Coast bikeway... What else?

The washer dryer was a great thing to have. Not to mention super nice hosts, very helpful, check-in and check-out were easy, good communication. Really, perfect stay.
For the travellers who appreciate a space of their own at the end of the day, an apartment or flat is the perfect home away from home. Furnished rooms and kitchen facilities give groups and families the flexibility to enjoy downtime separately, or plan the next day’s activities over a shared meal. Often available for short and long-term.
We had the small studio appt/house. Everything was new and done with love and care. Tyh esuite has a little well furnished outside area facing the pool and with view to the beach. The check-in was uncomplicated. There is a shop, restaurants and beach in walking distance to the house (if you don't mind a little walk) and we could use the bikes (basic) at the property.
A very smart villa furnished and maintained to a good standard. A lovely quiet residential location with nice views. The owners are very communicative and helpful if required. The interior is well appointed with good quality appliances and comfy furniture. An en-suite bathroom in each bedroom as well as the studio is really nice. We felt really relaxed and secure whilst staying at Casa da Gateira. The small mechanics workshop across the road didn’t cause us any annoyance at all.
The location in Afife was great, the little town has a couple of bars/cafes, a small supermarket, a train station and you can walk to the beach. The terrace was nice with a partial sea view. It was also a useful base for exploring up and down the coast and the Lima valley. Filipa, in reception, could not have been more helpful - replacing broken toaster and missing hairdryer and kitchen knives. The pool looked nice but it was very noisy, occupied by a family who rented several apartments, so we did not use.
Lots of room—I was the only guest. so I had the whole second floor to myself. Besides, the large bedroom with lots of storage and a skylight, outside my room was a living room with lots of books and games, a flat screen TV, a large desk and a refrigerator.
I called Antonio, the owner of Casa de Trajinha, when it was dark. He picked me up in his car and brought me to his house. (He charged 8€, for the service.)
Beautiful location in a quiet area in the lovely village of Afife. The courtyard was lovely and the swimming pool fantastic, especially as the sea was too dangerous to swim in. Nice, very clean apartment.
