The individual Japanese-inspired lodges were private and beautifully zen, complete with mosquito nets and a ceiling fan (no AC). The lodges with kitchenettes were not available during our stay but the shared kitchen was well equipped and each lodge had a designated refrigerator shelf and pantry shelf. There were no amenities provided so you have to bring everything with you. You can request breakfast and pizza at night for extra charge. We arrived via ferry to Ra’iatea on Sunday and learned that most of the shops and restaurants are closed all or most of the day. Alcohol is also not sold on Sunday afternoons. So, it would be better for shopping, eating and stocking up to arrive and leave on a day other than Sunday. There also is no shuttle or public transport to the Lodge so you need to rent a car. The drive from the airport or ferry landing takes at least 40 minutes on a narrow winding road repleat with scooters, dogs, chickens and pedestrians. Having said all that, the grounds and location are lovely as are the hosts Ketty and Moerii. The garden ends in a narrow strip of sandy beach that looks out to the nearby mouth of the bay. You can see and hear the surf rolling in. You can read and relax or paddle a kayak to the motu to snorkel (there is equipment to borrow). It was a lovely place to chill out.
Located in Taputapuapea in the Raiatea region, Bungalow climatisé chez Kim features a garden. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi.

Our stay on Raiateia was great. We got to experience the island laid back vibe. Mayana was very nice with us and helped planned our activities before we arrived; she also arranged for us to rent a scooter on the island. She is very caring to all her guests and made us feel like home
Océan studio is set in Tevaitoa and offers free bikes and a garden. The property features garden views.

Marc is an excellent host, he picked us up and dropped us off at the ferry for free (the only free thing we got on our Polynesia trip), which we really appreciated! It's not that easy to get to his house and he knows that, but he helps you by taking you to the place to rent a car too, because if you don't have one, it's a 20 minute walk up from the main street of the island. He is very friendly and concerned, he has snorkeling equipment available at his house as well. The place is excellent, clean, private, spacious, has everything you need to live for a couple of days, WiFi, comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen and a spectacular view of the ocean from there! It has a good restaurant nearby and a beach where you can snorkel!
Providing a terrace, Bungalow Tiarii, avec accès direct à une plage privée features accommodation in Tevaitoa. This beachfront property offers access to free WiFi and free private parking.

This place was amazing. Anna and Luk were fantastic hosts. The whole facilities were of high quality and resort like. They had kayaks, snorkel equipment even cars for hire which was fantastic as it is a way from main area of Uturoa. The rooms are stunning with open air kitchens, air-conditioned comfortable bedroom, great showers and a pool and spa to relax in. They also have an outdoor eatery in which we had dinner cooked by Luk which was outstanding. When we didn't think it get any better a whale breached just infront of us lazing on the beach lounges watching the waves roll by over the shallow reef frontage.
Thanks for a great stay Anna and Luk.
For the travellers who appreciate a space of their own at the end of the day, an apartment or flat is the perfect home away from home. Furnished rooms and kitchen facilities give groups and families the flexibility to enjoy downtime separately, or plan the next day’s activities over a shared meal. Often available for short and long-term.
Interaction with host was exceptional - directions to Lodge were clear and easy to follow, we were greeted by a local young woman who explained all the appliances etc plus a rental car was available for us when we arrived and a recommendation for a day trip was outstanding. Lodge was beautiful - full of fresh flowers, kayacks and outdoor lounges etc were all included, safe and quiet with a lagoon just metres from the outdoor balcony. Fantastic sunsets.
Great modern, secure, and spacious 3 bedroom apartment. Lots to like about this place. 3 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms are a plus, it's a great choice 9km out of the city centre and across the road from a supermarket.
