We were there for two weeks and chose not to rent a car (which we regretted when we learned there were no restaurants) but we had the services of Marco for transportation. He was very helpful and we highly recommend him.
Others, mostly owners, were mostly absent until the holidays but everyone was considerate so there was not offensive noise.⁹ We would enjoy staying there again.

El Palmar in San Carlos Panama. Super location, views, condo! Terrific beach and vibe. 2 good sized supermarkets 15 minutes away in Coronado had everything. We liked the restaurant Bay View, fish was fresh and views and ambiance were great! 1.5 hours from Panama City on Pacific coast, facing south to an expensive ocean view this was a very nice place that met our budget.

It’s a cute apartment with a very nice pool. The wifi is good. It seems to be in a good location, and safe. There was a nice assortment of teas, coffee, sugar and creamer packets, cooking oil, salt and pepper waiting for us, plus a couple of bottles of water. The kitchen has an assortment of dishes, and a table for eating at, which is nice. The water pressure is good. The apartment has an Alexa, which was nice for playing music. There are side tables and plugs on either side of one bed.
It’s probably a 5-10 minute walk to a path to the beach, which is quiet and relatively flat at low tide.
The host was responsive to our concerns.

Apartment was cozy, nice view on lake and sea. All necessary utensils for cooking. Beach was not crowded even on weekend. Owner and administrator were pleasant and communicating all the time we needed. Last day we had a walk near the lake and spotted small crocodile;))
The location right next to Playa El Palmar is amazing. The common areas are nicely set up with a lot of space to lounge, eat, and hang out. Everything is clean and the vibe is relaxed. The owners and staff are super friendly, José even took a group of us on an impromptu waterfall excursion one day. The 6-bed dorms are comfortable and have air conditioning. I didn’t take advantage of the surf board rentals or lessons, but it’s great that they’re available.
The apartments were very clean and very well equipped with all you could need. The view was sensational. The customer service from our host was top notch
