Jazmin was a responsive host, and we were lucky to be able to book with her after our other host cancelled at the last minute. The parking is an open lot and free. There is a guarded gate to enter the property so we felt relatively safe. The apartment was mostly clean, but I had to wash some oily residue off the plates in the kitchen, and there was hair in the bathroom sink. There was a full size dryer in the apartment that worked. The bed and the single chair/bed were comfortable. The a/c units worked and made the place very comfortable at night. The property has a large pool that we didn't use. The place was quiet and located beachside. There were ample towels. I wasn't sure about the safety of the small village around the property. There is a police station located there, and no one really bothered with us, so we felt as safe as two women who are obvious tourists usually feel. The ocean water at the beach was brown and uninviting. We didn't have time to visit the beach anyway, but likely would not have gone into the water even if we could have.
We went there to scuba dive from Portobelo, and this was the closest we could get to Portobelo at the last minute. We picked up the key at Mar Y Pizza, and we got a pizza to go. It was pretty good, and Mrs. Maty (? the pizzeria owner) was lovely and helpful. Other than the pizzeria there didn't seem to be many (or any) other food options, so we ate in Portobelo both days after our activities.

The safety of the property was good. Excellent location to a bunch of markets and convenience stores (there’s one on the ground floor and literally across the street), and to a few tourist attractions. Inclusion of the oven toaster is a nice touch. The price was good too.

The location is fine, you have the beach and pool. The place is tranquil. Also, the beach has black sand which is rare to see.!!

Very nice apartment in Sabanitas for the night. Nidis was an excellent hostess and super helpful. No restaurants nearby, so she recommended Terazza de Sabanitas, a small mall with several restaurants, including Restaurante Oceania, with good seafood. The taxi ride to the mall was $1.50. She also arranged a taxi ride to Portobelo at a very reasonable rate, and it was worth it, much nicer than taking the bus.
The Location! It was very peaceful! The contact with the owner was very easy. We got all the information we needed for the apartment before we arrived.
