The studio cabin was very clean and access to the key was simple. We were heading to Lake Waikaremoana the next morning for a waka ama event, so an overnight stay in Wairoa was a great way to break up the trip. We had a waka attached to the roof of our ute, but parking outside the cabin was roomy and easy to move in and out from.
The motel was very tired. Physical design was from a bygone era. Fittings and appliances had seen better days, but it was clean and tidy and kitted out with all one needs for a short stay.
Staff was friendly. With a short walk across the bridge to rows, the motel is in a great location to enjoy the town.
