Loved that it was in a quiet road and property at back of section. Peaceful and quiet. Loved the attention to detail in the accommodation.- furnishings, toiletries, perfect size for a couple. Use of spa pool was a bonus. Unfortunately no star gazing as overcast both nights we stayed.

Perfect weekend ski retreat, warm welcome at reception on arrival . Spacious third floor studio room and a bath. We had a roast meal in the restaurant which had couches.by the fire and later had skiers winding down after an epic day on 83cm fresh snow. I loved the room plenty of space and warm . Wandering down town to Opuke hot spring in the evening. Complementary breakfast offered from 7.15am makes it good value for luxury feel.plenty of free parking , I caught a bus from door to Mt Hutt.
Our apartment was great. We had a beautiful view from the lounge, the kitchen was iexceptiinally well equipped, our beds were comfortable and we were warm.
We loved the spa and the nearby kids 0kayground was a bonus.
I really liked the layout of the apartment for a family. With the three-bed option you get the combination of a two bedroom apartment plus a studio room with ensuite and private use of the laundry (this is usually shared between the two rooms). We enjoyed the hot tubs at the resort and the convenience of the on-site restaurant when it was open. While the poor wifi and TV would not allow for watching movies from a streaming service, there was a DVD player with DVDs available for borrowing from reception.
It is in a great location- easy to get to ski fields and other local attractions and an easy walk to town. It is an easy ride to / from Christchurch and Ashburton. I like the spaciousness of the apartment, which we used in conjunction with the adjacent studio apartment to accommodate 5 of us. It is much more spacious for a family than a usual motel-type unit. And I appreciated the washing machine and drying facilities. And we really enjoyed the spa pool after an active day. I think the owner is pleasant to deal with too.

Originally we stayed in a studio room and that was a little dated. We moved to an apartment when lockdown happened and that was fantastic. Would definitely pay the extra and get an apartment next time we are in methven.
Because of lockdown we didn't get to eat in the restaurant so couldn't comment on that
