This is a lovely hotel, with a friendly owner. Perfect cleanliness and value for money. The breakfasts are gigantic and delicious. A quiet area, you can walk or get to the beach by bike, but this should not be a problem for those who are going to rent a scooter.

We stayed at this hotel from November 5th to 20th of November, 2024. Upon arrival in the evening, we were greeted warmly by the hotel staff. We were a group of friends and were provided with two adjoining rooms, which was very convenient.
Unfortunately, our rooms were not in the main building, so it took about 2-5 minutes to walk to the pool and restaurant. The hotel is located in the jungle, away from the main street, but you can reach it by tuk-tuk which is always available.
The rooms were clean, but we were concerned about the loudness of the refrigerator in one of the rooms, which prevented us from sleeping. We had to turn it off and keep food in another room. Room service and bed linen change were available upon request.
Breakfast was served in the main building and waiting for food could take up to 40 minutes. We could rent a moped and purchase water in the same building. Occasionally, monkeys would visit the hotel's roof. The pool area was clean and well-maintained.
Overall, it was a good value for the price.

it was like a home stay, Diyan & his family were welcoming, warm & friendly. The room wince nice & clean, the kitchen had everything we needed. The Wi-Fi was very good, the family let us use the washing machine & Diyan has his own tuktuk which was handy for going into town. We really liked sitting on the balcony & chilling with a few beers watching the world go by.

Overall a nice place to stay, with a well equipped kitchen and modern bathroom with washing machine. The start of the driveway has some large rocks, which isn’t quite suitable for tuktuks but still manageable. Staff were lovely and helpful but a little unorganised, as they didn't realise we had a booking there until we arrived and when I tried to contact them the day prior there was no response. Property is about a 5-10 minute walk from the beach, with a staircase at the end of the road that takes down to the restaurants and cafes. Overall, it was a good stay.

I spent my last six nights in Sri Lanka staying at the Spice House Apartments and overall it was my favorite stay! Beautiful place with a lot of practical furniture and other stuff like a water cooker. Feels like a little flat packed into a room but in a sweet way. Rooftop is very chill with some quiet classical music playing in the background all the time and some hammocks and stuff. The beach is not accessible from the hotel but still close with a 5min walk. But the sea is visible from the rooftop! :)

The apartment was very clean and comfortable. A/C was working perfectly. The bathroom was clean as well and the hot water was working very well. It was nice to have a fridge and little kitchen area. Both, the owner and house keeper were very friendly and helpful. They made sure if everything‘s fine on a regular basis. The owner also arranged a scooter rental for us. The location was very quiet and at night there weren’t any noises so that we could sleep very well. Thanks for a great stay! We would definitely come back :)
It was self-catering studio apartment complete with all cooking equipment. There is a short cut walk to the Unawatuna Beach and also was not that far to the Jungle beach on the other side. I love the fact that this place was surrounded by trees which was full of wildlife. Thoroughly Enjoyed the views from the balcony where I spend the most of my spare time. Overall simply amazing!
The owner is so friendly, he gave us cold towels and fresh juice on arrival which was very appreciated. The swimming pool is great. We even got a room upgrade which was lovely. Toiletries provided and a lovely balcony over the pool. The boys that worked there couldn’t be more helpful, they even helped us change a flat tire on the tuk tuk. Even though just off main road felt secluded we even saw monkeys! Breakfast was amazing in particular the home made Papaya juice was to die for!
Our stay at this apartment was very good, the owner were very lovely and helpful. The apartment was beautiful and had good furniture. The kitchen also had everything you need. All in all very recommendable!
We have just stayed at Rock Side for 2 nights and we wish we were able to stay longer. The room is more like an apartment as you have a beautiful terrace area outside, with views into the jungle as well as a kitchen with a fridge and cooking facilities. The room is spacious with TV, AC, good wifi and a really nice bathroom with powerful shower. Tasty breakfast and motorbike rental also available at an affordable cost. We can’t thank the lovely family enough and would recommend to anyone!
This property is an amazing place to stay when in Unawattuna, it is a 5 minute Tuk Tuk to Unawattuna Beach and a 10 minute Tuk Tuk to Galle. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the apartment room was great. The aircon in the bedroom worked perfectly and the pool was a lovely temperature and very clean. I would recommend this stay to everyone.
Great location away from traffic. Two amazing apartments to choose from, both with full self catering facilities. Modern appliances, a washing machine and a huge garden with plenty of parking space. I also felt very safe because of the tall lockable gates, and CCTV camaras. I recommend this place, honestly considering the price it is very underrated :)
