This was truly a hidden gem in Matara. The place is super clean and nice, the kind hosts were very helpful and supportive. This place had fully equipped kitchen (Microwave, Hot Plate, Electric Kettle, Juice Maker, Refrigerator and all the kitchen equipment you could ever want), There were two rooms which was super clean. Also this place had an Electric iron and there were Washing machine (we didn't use the washing machine) although the place is bit far from town, It is in close proximity to Polhena beach, which is a very beautiful beach. My first impression and stay at the place is not 10 out of 10, but 100 out of 10 ❤️. Highly recommend place and will definitely visit again.

The flat is spacious with a beautiful balcony. It is well equipped with everything necessary (mosquito net, fridge, little kitchen, three beds…). It is located in a quiet backroad next to beautiful greenery with monkeys, squirrels and peacocks. The beach is easily reachable by walking around 10 Minutes. The breakfast was excellent and different every of the 5 days we stayed. We also had home-cooked dinner there which included some of the best rice and curry we had. It’s very good value for money. The host family is lovely and caring while giving you personal space according to your preference. We were traveling with our nine-month old baby and they were always happy to play with him and look after him while we were eating. It’s a real Homestay in the best way. We hope to be back one day.

I totally recommend this villa for a long term rent. There is a lot of space inside and a small garden outside, it is clean and newly painted and all the furniture and fridge and washing machine are new. You'll have 2 bedrooms with comfortable double beds and wardrobes, living room with enough space for dining area and a chillout zone. Each room has a ceilling fan and it's not hot inside. All rooms has a garden view. There is a fiber internet and mobile wifi option.
The location is wonderful, too. The villa is hidden from the main road, so you'll never hear any car or bus noises. But you can reach the beach and the cafes just in 10 min walk. If you like to swim, it's better to come to Polhena beach, which you can reach in 20-25 min on foot or 5-7 min by bike or tuk-tuk. You can also find some vegetable and fruit markets, small local shops and big supermarkets near the house. And you can easily reach big city Matara - by bus, tuk-tuk or bike.
Finally, the hosts are really very nice, friendly and helpful. They were always there for us when we needed and helped us with every our request. Thank you so much! Hope to see you again :)

The place is very comfy and welcoming:
- Guesthouse with it's own garden. Private open veranda, with a great view.
- Nice decore of the room and bathroom.
- All room equipment is working, if anything happens, the owner will fix it within seconds.
- Mobile network is solid, full signal of 4G with Dialog sim-card. Experienced no problems, while working my work via remote vpn.
- The owners are intelligent, kind-hearted people who will treat you as family and will help you with everything possible.
The location is far from the road and the river - no traffic noise, and very few mosquitos in the evening. Even though the railroad tracks are close, the train schedule is not tight, the trains are short and they speed down in city area.
Most of the time, you will hear only the nature sounds.
Recommended for solo-travelers and pairs.

We had an amazing stay in this beautiful apartment! The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinner. The location is great and close to everything. The hosts were amazing and even kindly dropped us at the bus stop and helped us with our onward journey. We would definitely stay again!

I enjoyed my stay so much! The apartment is very spacious, it also has a private balcony with a nice view to the jungle full of monkeys, squirrels and birds. Vinu's Place is little bit remote from the busiest part of the town - I was surprised at the beginning, but then it made our stay even better. The hosting family is extremely hospitable and caring. Highly recommended!
Vidu and his family are very special people - warm, welcoming, kind and generous. They helped with everything from scooter rental to clothes washing and made us such delicious Sri Lankan breakfasts - we were even joined by a Peacock! Short walk to the beach in a peaceful area. Vidu took us to the local temple which was beautiful and enlightening. Everyone went above and beyond for us and we felt like family. The kind of place you are very sad to leave. Book it before we move in!
The apartment was amazing! We ended up staying 8 days instead of 4. The family were so nice and generous. The wildlife you can see from the balcony is amazing, langurs, macaques, peacocks and all different types of birds. Including a momma cat and her two skinny kitties we ended up feeding a lot! 🥲💔highly recommend this place. So much space in the sitting room to do yoga each morning and then enjoy your breakfast on the balcony.

This cute studio apartment is in the perfect location, between Hiriketiya and Dikwella beaches, you can walk to both in a few minutes. There’s also yoga and restaurants near by. The studio has everything you could need, and two fans to keep it cool.
I really liked the private courtyard, which was incredibly peaceful and also shaded.
