it was a door code, but there was someone on hand to give me the details. The accommodation itself was very traditional and a little spartan but felt very authentic. Tatami mats and screens. The real deal. It was a little old-fashioned in interior design, but clean and none the worse for that. I loved the fact it came with a couple of old school clunky bikes, that I used to go to Naoshima island

We were picked up at the ferry dock and driven to the property. Mostly communicated through Booking messages. Great restaurants -- and sights to see -- were recommended and booked for us. Lovely sea view and nice terrace. AND we were given a lift to the next accommodation on the island. Incredible hospitality!

The room is incredibly spacious, clean, and well-designed. The interior is true to the pictures, it is incredibly warm and homely, and the amenities are great. I especially loved the small kitchenette space, as well as the small breakfast offered (which comes with different fruits each day!). Staying here was an incredible and unique experience that cannot be compared to the run-of-the-mill commercial/ business hotel. I would highly recommend it!
