Kids say: we loved how the bedrooms were really cosy and we loved the beautiful view from the windows. We also loved the big area so we could go sledding down the mini hills.
Adults say: we like how the property had beer and food on offer. They recognised that the property was a little far and had few stores in the area to buy things. The property itself had everything one needs and the owners are very thoughtful about that. The communication was excellent! The staff are very friendly, kind and thoughtful. We had a magical Christmas there. We walked to the nearby frozen lake with no other tourists. It was just our family. Pure magic!

This was such a comfortable, welcoming base for our stay in Matsumoto. It had everything we could possibly need and was immaculately clean. Chris and Kumi were wonderful, friendly hosts. They also run the Storyhouse Cafe down below, which has a great atmosphere and often live music. There were also rental bikes which were very affordable and convenient.
Our stay at the Northstart Loft was very comfortable. It had all the necessary amenities required for a relaxing stay. Spencer is a great host and provided excellent customer service.
The food was amazing, superb value for money. Both the dinner and breakfast had a great variety of tasty and filling dishes.
There were not many staff, but they were all very nice, professional, and welcoming.
The room and other facilities were fairly clean but quite old.
Boardgames for rental and a small game room with a retro famicom game were fun touches but may feel outdated.
The room we stayed in that had been renovated to house bunkbeds was fun for my young son.
The personnel was really nice, they wanted to help us with everything. We couldn’t get the local bike rental app working, and we asked if there was any possibility’s for renting a bike. When we came back from our room, the two woman that worked at the check in fixed two bikes for us!
All facilities are clean and tidy. The labels as instructions are clear and lovely with hand drawn cute cats! The apartment is very spacious with a living room and bedroom. There are also enough utilities eg garbage bags, utensils etc. The location is also convenient that it is between the JR station and the castle. The host is also very friendly with prompt reply! They let us store our luggage after check out, very nice!
This is a very cosy small hostel located 20 min walk and 10 min bus ride from Matsumoto station. Matsumoto castle is a 5-10 min walk and there are many restaurants in the area. It is especially suitable for people who like to cook themselves. The kitchen is very clean and well-stocked with even a little toaster oven. The staff is super friendly and helped us call car rentals and restaurants when not speaking Japanese was an issue

Fantastic location, near to family mart, eateries, major shopping mall andMatsutomo castle.
It has got everything you need, fresh towels, loft bed, tatami bed,washing machine, gas stove, kettle, microwave, toaster, hot shower with bath tub, air-conditioning and heater. It's just like staying in your own home. Perfect for family with kids.
