We informed the management of the estimated time of our arrival and told them we would get a taxi straight to the facility. When we arrived at the Westport train station we were met by a member of the management in a mini bus. Lovely surprise. When my husband and friend arrived much later that evening the kitchen was closed but they cheerfully reopened it and fed them with a fabulous plate of fresh fish and chips. The food was absolutely delicious and very plentiful. The owners and staff were wonderful, very warm and friendly. The apartment was very pleasant and comfortable. I cannot speak highly enough of the people of this warm and welcoming place. I hope to return there someday and very highly recommend it to people looking for a lovely vacation experience. Thank you again to the owners and staff of the Helm.

Great location in the Quay. Within walking distance to several restaurants and pubs. The view while walking is beautiful. The use of the hotel facilities was also wonderful! The one-bed apartment was perfect for 2 people!! It had everything needed for a week's stay, including dishes, pots/pans, toaster, coffeemaker/kettle. The bed was super comfortable!!!

Cabin was lovely, on the owner’s house property. It was on me I did not look into the reviews in depth, as the water has an odor to it. Fine for showers but the smell I was not anticipating. Lovely views though

For travelers who appreciate a space of their own at the end of the day, an apartment or flat is the perfect home away from home. Furnished rooms and kitchen facilities give groups and families the flexibility to enjoy downtime separately or plan the next day’s activities over a shared meal. The breakfast was excellent, really tasty and piping hot. My morning cappuccino was also nice too. Well worth popping over for each morning. We stayed in the self catering cottage about 3 min drive down the road. The cottage was amazing in a lovely quiet position with a lovely view; very well equipped. It was about a 7 min drive into Mulranny. We also had evenings meals at Nevins which were fabulous! There’s even a robot bringing your food to you!

Location was excellent, everything in the town a short walk. We didn't meet Mary but communication was very good. The room is more like a small apartment with views over the bay you could easily lose a day just sitting and staring. Everything was very clean if a little dated in parts. Would definitely recommend.
Perfect base for a couple to explore the North West region of Ireland. The 'apartment' is a seperate small house with adequate parking. The house, appliances and furnishings are all quite new. It even has a washer/ dryer which was very convenient on our extended trip.
