The apartment is in an old wine cave which has been beautifully refurbished in the last couple of years. The interior was spotlessly clean and equipped with modern facilities. The location was close to the southern shore of Lake Balaton and visiting places around the lake was straightforward. The property is completely off the road, up its own short track. There is another apartment upstairs from the one in which we stayed. The guests in there were very quiet. The bed was very comfortable and we slept very well.
Ferenc was an excellent host, very responsive on WhatsApp. We were also given a bottle of wine and a couple of bottles of water on arrival, as well as fruit and some chocolates.
For the travellers who appreciate a space of their own at the end of the day, an apartment or flat is the perfect home away from home. Furnished rooms and kitchen facilities give groups and families the flexibility to enjoy downtime separately, or plan the next day’s activities over a shared meal. Often available for short and long-term.
Its super nice place, not in the touristy area, but super close to everything. The apartment had everything we needed, and the pool was just divine for either a full day of swimming or just right for an evening swim.
Our family with kids really appreciated a secure environment and a lot of space for play around.
The view on the vineyards and the lake is very nice and around the Birtok there are some easy hiking opportunities with lovely views. Although we were visiting out of the season and the restaurant was closed, we were offered wine tasting, organized by the owner of the estate, who was generally super welcoming. The apartment itself is just like in the photos.
