We were looking for somewhere to stop over for two nights and how could we resist somewhere named the Bees Knees? The location just outside Monmouth was perfect for our needs and gave us the opportunity to explore the forest nearby. This extension on the side of the main house/converted barn was cosy and clean, with everything we needed. Comfortable bed with loads of pillows to choose from, good size shower and decent wifi. The lighting efffects were fun to play with and we did actually use them for softer lighting in the morning. We were treated to cake, tea and coffee and there was milk waiting in the fridge. The weather was still good for the time of year so we were able to sit out in the fenced-off garden area and enjoy the view. We didn't use the full kitchen, but we could have easily cooked for ourelves if we'd been staying longer. Our hosts made it easy to get the keys and when the electricity briefly failed were really responsive. We very much enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend to anyone looking to be in the area for a few days.

The Pub is a unique and fun place to stay! The accommodations have all the comforts of home—plus a truly authentic ‘pub’ atmosphere. We had initially planned to go out to dinner the evening we arrived but the room was so cozy and welcoming we decided to order food delivery and eat in the ‘pub’. It must have been so much fun designing and furnishing this property:). The owners are very helpful and responsive—and the fact they welcome well behaved pets is an added bonus. Highly recommended!

The location was absolutely perfect. Tintern itself is so pretty with lots to do and other locations are within easy reach.
We loved Tintern Abbey and towns such as Chepstow and Monmouth. There are lots of CADW sites to explore too. The flat was very clean and comfortable with tea, coffee and milk provided. Great hosts who made sure we had all the details needed in plenty of time and they responded immediately to our messages. We will definitely be back!
Everything, it is paradise packaged into a brand new, stunning and tastefully decorated, cosy and pretty Studio haven. So romantic, like going to a forest and finding a magical tiny kingdom.
Fabulous older style apartment. Very clean, comfy (immediately felt like home). We can't say enough about the hosts: They left us eggs, crisps, marshmellows - and even a cake. Our 1 question was answered immediately. They even supplied coffee pods, milk, tea and sugar. The view of the river and mountains was great. Highly recommend.
The apartment was perfect and the location beautiful. The hosts were really great at communicating everything we needed to know in plenty of time. There were so many lovely welcoming touches too like welsh cakes and biscuits , tea and coffee etc and milk. We felt so welcomed and that the enjoyment of our stay mattered to the hosts.
Beautiful view over the river. Good facilities, everything you could want in an apartment. Comfy and cosy. Great pub very near just along the road to the left, plus a little village shop. Plenty of walks to enjoy and a couple of choices of where to eat at the end of each day. Easy to find and park thanks to clear directions from hosts. Would definitely recommend.
Location was excellent, as was the view around the valley and the river just across the road. The apartment layout was easy and all on one level when inside the apartment.
