Had a very pleasant stay here. Had a warm welcome and appreciated the little gifts left for us. A cosy little place and we enjoyed the homeliness and having everything we needed. Great location with an easy drive to many great walks and also the coast only being 20 minutes away.

The level of cleanliness in the property is fantastic. Easily the cleanest apartment we've ever rented. Nice furnishings and the living room/ kitchen penthouse has real character.
Fabulous apartment that is central to Town, extremely clean and well appointed. Comfortable main beds, and the sofabed was needed for teenagers and they found it really cosy and comfortable too. Host was on hand and answered queries immediately. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come again here to Church View penthouse. Parking at the property was so convenient too.

The apartment is a perfect size for a couple and spotlessly clean. The personal touches, such as milk and pastries real elevate this to an exceptional short term rental.
Loved the location just back from Cockermouth main st. It was quiet and easy to walk through to the shops. There is an amazing butcher which backs on to the apartment. The unit has most things one needs for self catering. Basic but available. It is a great base for walks and tours around the Lake District. The Cumberland sausage from the butcher is superb. There is parking on site which is a bonus. Access is interesting to say the least. Big cars will be challenged. Done once it becomes easier. Oh have I mentioned the butcher?
A lovely apartment, much bigger than the pictures show. Was very clean and had everything we needed for a short stay. We would definitely recommend and hope to stay again.
We loved our short stay at Dovenby House. The host Vanessa was really communicative and responsive; she kept in touch, then met us on arrival and was just so lovely and welcoming. The apartment was perfect for the two of us and was extremely comfortable, clean and warm, and there was even a home-made cake and milk on the fridge for when we arrived. The apartment has parking and is really well placed for you get to lots of beautiful places very easily. We'll definitely be back!
