Perfect place to stay while in the Colonial Zone. Close proximity and walking distance to the historical sites, cambios, bars, cafes, restaurants, shops and the main El Conde Street. Also located on a quiet, beautiful, picturesque street with with an equally lovely, charming and super affordable bistro. We loved every moment of our walks from and back to this lovely Air Bnb. The Terrace to the top of the building also provides lovely views, even of the Caribbean Ocean too!. It's a great place to relax at night with some wine or a sparkling bubbly. The pergola on the terrace is also filled with edible grapes. We picked the riped ones and put them in our bubbly! Please note though, that the location and name on Booking.com differs.
The actual name and address is Casa La Maria, Callejón de Regina, Num 4 , Zona Colonial, Santo Domingo. A wonderful breakfast is provided by it's partner Hotel - Luca Hotel, which also falls under Heritage Residences and is a mere 5 min walk north, as if you are walking to El Conde Street. For breakfast we thoroughly enjoyed their number 2 special - the ham and cheese omelette with toast. Coffee, tea and local juices are also provided.
Joab, the Manager at Casa La Maria is very helpful and friendly. He arranged taxis from the Airport to the location for the 4 of us, as well as to places we wanted to visit outside of the Colonial Zone. We even had some laundry that we needed done, as we were there for 5 days before heading to Punta Cana, and he offered laundry services for a small contribution. He can also assist with putting you unto Tours etc. We will definitely stay here again on our return!
